Begin your riding journey or come and refresh your skills. All are welcome!
Service Description
Overview: The MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) Basic RiderCourse is a training program designed for beginning motorcyclists but is also beneficial to those with some experience who want to brush up on their riding skills. The course is a combination of both online instruction (e-course) and actual riding practice on a closed course to ensure that participants learn the fundamentals of motorcycle operation, safe riding techniques, and critical street-riding strategies. What to expect: * 15-hours of instruction (5 hour e-course/10 hours riding). * Range exercises will include low-speed maneuvers and basic skills such as shifting, accelerating, braking, cornering, U-turn, and lane change. * RiderCoach feedback while learning to ride Testing and Completion: The course includes a knowledge test based on the e-classroom material and a riding skill evaluation on the practice range. Successfully passing both tests results in a completion card and a 90 day waiver, which exempts riders from the riding test required by the Department of Driver Services (DDS). What you MUST Wear: * DOT-compliant helmet (some may be available to use during training) * Eye protection * Long-sleeve shirt or jacket * Long, non-flare pants made of denim or equivalent or more durable material * Over-the-ankle boots (sturdy, no high top gym shoes) * Full-finger gloves, preferably leather What we provide: * Training Motorcycle To successfully graduate, students must: * Complete the e-course prior to range day (Students will receive an email containing the course access and should bring a copy/screenshot of their completion certificate on the 1st range day) * Attend all sessions * Be on time for all sessions * Score 80% or better on a written evaluation * Pass an on-cycle skills evaluation Other Considerations: Courses are sometimes conducted in inclement weather such as rain, cold, or heat.
